The Day I Got my Chai Back
Akash
I’m a guy who loves chai, I have chai when I wake up, when I have breakfast, when I’m feeling happy, when I’m feeling sad. Chai used to be my buddy. It was around 2 years ago when I developed mild lactose intolerance, if I took a sip of chai my stomach used to bloat. Left me feeling very uncomfortable and I was forced to give up on my favourite companion for the day – my beloved chai.

I started consuming black coffee, not by choice but for the sake of my stomach. But, the feeling of having chai was unparalleled with anything else.

It was months later after breaking up with chai, my friend invited me to his sister’s wedding in Sira Tumkur, a beautiful place in Karnataka.

I was introduced to desi breeds of cows – the Sahiwal, Red Sindhi, Hallikar and more. These indigenous breeds naturally produce milk with only the A2 variant of beta-casein protein, which is easier to digest.

The place gives you pure desi vibes, I visited my friend’s place & we played with Cows & calves, which is where I was introduced to desi breeds of cows – the Sahiwal, Red Sindhi, Hallikar and more.

They are indigenous native cow breeds. These indigenous breeds naturally produce milk with only the A2 variant of beta-casein protein, which is easier to digest. I was amazed by the fact that there are protein variants in milk the A1 & A2, and the A2 protein is only found in Indian breeds.

My friend forced me to have a cup of chai at his place, he was unaware of the fact that I had given up on chai. I refused in the beginning, but I couldn’t deny the love & care they offered. I had my first sip of chai and it tasted different, it was thick compared to the milk we have in cities. I experimented on myself with the whole cup of chai and to my surprise, my stomach didn’t bloat! I happily attended the wedding and returned back home with the joy of having my favourite Chai again.

This was possible only because of A2 milk and that is when I switched to A2 milk,
no one (A1) can keep us apart.
My days are brighter now, thanks to the return of my chai!
